Five competitors were disqualified from the ski jumping final for the mixed teams at the Winter Olympics in Beijing tonight (Tuesday-Wednesday) because of uniform violations, after the overalls they wore were too large, which could have given them an aerodynamic advantage.
Among the surfers disqualified from the competition are Sarah Takanashi from Japan, a bronze medalist from the 2018 Pyongyang Olympics, Daniela Irashko-Stoltz from Austria, the silver medalist from Sochi 2014, the German silver medalist Katrina Althaus at the current Olympics on the regular hill in the regular hill.
Althaus told reporters after being disqualified: "We were looking forward to the second competition at the Olympics, but the International Ski Federation ruined it - they ruined the women's ski jumps. Our names are out now and it's just shit. That's how countries and sports are destroyed."

The confused Takanashi quickly left the arena, and Oops also cried when she told reporters that with the same suit she competed last Saturday.
"I think they tested it differently today compared to what they did in the past, I think it's very strange that they suddenly changed rules in the middle of a tournament. I'm really just shocked. I'm sorry they disqualified me today," said Opseth before bursting into tears again.
International Ski Federation clerk Aga Bachkowska said each team should make sure their overalls meet the rules.
A statement from the association said the competitors' suits were "made exclusively for the Olympics" and were not "tested in the past" ahead of the final.
The organization offered an inspection of the suits before the competition.
"The suits that led to the disqualifications were too large and offered an aerodynamic advantage to the athlete," the statement said.
This year was the first time that the ski jumping event was held in the mixed group, which includes two men and two women.
The Slovenian team won the gold medal in the competition, while athletes with the Russian Olympic Committee won the silver and Canada took home the bronze.
