A spirit of optimism at FC Erding: Five newcomers - and second team from summer

After years of decline: FC Erding is again confident about the future.

Erding – For this season, the footballers of FC Erding have spent the league in the A class from goal.

The team is currently in ninth place, but only three points away from being relegated.

But in the long term, the club wants to target promotion and pick up on better times again.

The first course has already been set for this.

The winter preparations at FC Erding started at the weekend with a team meeting.

On Tuesday, the outdoor preparation started on the new artificial turf pitch in the Gerd-Vogt-Sportpark.

The highlight of the preparations will be the training camp from February 24th to 27th in Pilsen, Czech Republic.

"We have clearly defined our goals," reports Sport Director Max Malterer.

"Staying up in the league comes first, of course, and especially after the last results we are very confident." The second goal is "team building and preparation for next season." FC Erding wants to send a second team into play again.

Therefore, the focus is particularly on team building and the composition of the squad.

"As a result, the club's image should also be constantly improved," emphasizes Max Malterer.

The sporting director presents André Mazic, Felix Malterer, Maximilian Lang, Rafael Blazquez-Jimenez and Willi Müller as newcomers, all of whom came from SV Wörth 2.

"Everyone already had a close relationship with FC, even played here and live in Erding," notes Max Malterer.

"We have thus taken the first step towards the long-term goal of having Erdinger players back on the pitch for FC Erding." The quintet is still suspended and will only be allowed to play from mid/late April.

The FCE also wants to increasingly incorporate young talent.

Luke Feuser and David Gärtner, both of whom are in the A youth squad of JFG Sempt Erding, will train with the men's team in the second half of the season.

They should get their playing time there, but they will continue to collect match practice at the JFG.

"We see great potential for the future in both of them and want to integrate them into the men's team as quickly as possible, of course with a special focus on the next season," says Max Malterer, who very much regrets that FCE has also made a departure : Thomas Frieß changes to city rivals SpVgg Eichenkofen.

"Unfortunately, after many discussions, Tommy decided to leave the FCE," regrets the sporting director.

"It hurts not only in terms of sport, but also on the organizational side,

where he did a lot.

Of course we wish him all the best and every success.”

Max Malterer is particularly pleased that the FCE will also be registering a second team for the 2022/23 season.

We have already found a trainer for this – Dan Kohlmann,” he reports proudly.

“He knows the club inside out and has already played at a higher level.

We couldn't have filled the position better, and of course we're very happy about that.
