At the start of the tournament, Germany clearly lost to record Olympic champions Canada.

The German national ice hockey team started the Olympic tournament* in Beijing with a clear defeat.
On Thursday (February 10), the DEB team clearly lost 5-1 (0-3, 1-1, 0-1) against record-breaking Olympic champions Canada.
Canada lays the foundation for success in the first third.
