From his own experience, Vollmer warns of the pitfalls of the extended half-time break in the Super Bowl.

The break in the NFL final between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams is 30 minutes, almost twice as long as in normal games.

The reason should be known and is the highlight of the game for many.

Super Bowl: Secret trick for the halftime show brought Vollmer a mega comeback

Depending on the course of the game, Vollmer estimated that a player could not be on the field for between 45 minutes and an hour.

The biggest problem is "mentally and physically getting your body back on track," explained the 37-year-old.

In preparation for the extended break, his old team, the New England Patriots, blew a whistle after an hour and a half of practice.

"Then we had to sit down for an hour and do nothing but drink something and somehow keep warm," said Vollmer.

This was the decisive advantage to turn the 3:28 half-time deficit in the final against the Atlanta Falcons in 2016 - the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history was born.

He doesn't believe that the LA Rams in particular are under pressure before the game at home.

"Once you're on the pitch, it doesn't matter.

You do what you have done and loved since childhood.

Sometimes you don't even realize you're in the Super Bowl."

NFL in Germany: Vollmer is “overjoyed” about the games in Munich and Frankfurt

In the coming season, the NFL will come to Germany for the first time, in the next four years there will be two regular games each in Munich and Frankfurt.

"I'm overjoyed," said Vollmer.

The first game in Munich is later this year.

"It's only a few months away.

You can feel how excited the league is on the American side, but also the Germans.

The hands-on game is here.

That really helps the sport again.”

Vollmer now also works as an ambassador for the NFL.

"If we finally come to Germany, there's a good chance we'll gather even more fans and show the NFL all-around package.

We don't just play one game and leave," he said, announcing that the National Football League would also invest in local schools and sports clubs.
