+++ Update +++
Beijing – what a crazy relay of biathlon men was!
Germany lost the medal in the last shooting, Philipp Nawrath made too many mistakes.
In the end it was only the thankless fourth place for Erik Lesser, Roman Rees, Benedikt Doll and Nawrath.
Are the German Olympic women doing better on Wednesday morning (8.45 a.m. CET)?
Led by individual Olympic champion Denise Herrmann, the German biathletes want to get involved in the fight for the relay medals.
As the German Ski Association (DSV) announced on Tuesday, it is sending Vanessa Voigt, Vanessa Hinz, Franziska Preuss and Herrmann into the race over four times six kilometers.

"We've been looking forward to the relay all year," said Herrmann, who won the singles gold in China for the only German medal in eight biathlon races so far.
The season is about “that we really stay within striking distance to the end.
We're not the clear favorites on paper." Nevertheless, the 33-year-old promised: "We will fight to the knife and give everything to the last centimetre."
Top favorite Norway around the three-time Beijing Olympic champion Marte Olsbu Röiseland will have to do without Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, who has started the journey home after suffering a weakness in the pursuit.
Other medal contenders are Sweden, France, Belarus and Russia.
