The fuss surrounding Novak Djokovic never ends.

The Serbian tennis star draws attention to himself with clear statements about the corona vaccination.

Frankfurt – The Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic made a clear statement to the BBC on Tuesday (February 15, 2022) about his attitude towards the corona vaccination*: “I would rather miss tournaments and not win trophies than be forced to vaccinate. He is even willing to miss the French Open and Wimbledon.

These statements suggest that the Serb is an opponent of vaccination.

However, Djokovic denied this: "I was never against vaccinations," he told the BBC, confirming that he had been vaccinated as a child.

Nevertheless, the compulsion bothers him: "I have always supported the freedom to choose what you put in your body." He continues to think about getting vaccinated.

In this context, the tennis star emphasized that his body was his own business and that he wanted to make the decision for himself.

Tennis star Djokovic: "Nobody wants to get Corona"

Most recently, the 20-time Grand Slam winner drew attention to himself with a dispute over his vaccination status with the Australian government.

Upon entry, he was deported from Australia* and was unable to compete in the Australia Open*.

According to federal court documents, the reason was that Djokovic's "anti-vaccination attitude" could have a negative impact on the population.

This was preceded by a positive Corona test * Djokovics a few weeks before the tournament.

There has been much speculation about a falsification of the positive result.

The tennis star did not give any specific information to the BBC.

Instead, he addressed the speculation: "Nobody wants to get Corona.

I take this very seriously.

I don't like it when someone thinks I did it on purpose to be allowed to go to Australia.” (Monja Stolz) *
