EC Peiting is going through a difficult phase in the Oberliga Süd.

The catch-up game against Rosenheim offers the opportunity to polish up the scratched self-confidence.

Peiting

– In the first half of the season in the Oberliga Süd, games against teams placed behind them in the table were a bubbly source for EC Peiting in terms of points.

But those times are over for now.

Most recently, there were bitter defeats in Füssen (1:8) and at home against Höchstadt (1:4).

"They were both deserved," said ECP coach Anton Saal afterward.

Peiting's coach doesn't want to make any excuses for the previous defeats

The long list of absentees - especially defenders Fabian Weyrich (ankle injury), Tim Rohrbach (hip problems) and Maximilian Söll (ill) - are sorely missed - the coach didn't want to use as an excuse.

“Other teams also have failures.

We were too tense,” said Saal as the main reason for the two most recent bankruptcies.

However, the people from Peiting don't have much time to think about it, as the catch-up game at home against the Starbulls Rosenheim is already on the program for Tuesday (8 p.m.).

A week ago, Peiting sold well against Rosenheim

On Monday, the main focus of training at the ECP was regeneration.

"And we will work through the defeats to get a clear head," promises Saal.

Against Rosenheim, who are currently in third place, Peitinger, in contrast to the past games, are clear outsiders.

However, the Saal squad proved just a week ago in the narrow 2-3 defeat after extra time at the Starbulls that they can keep up with a top team in the Oberliga.

Game on Friday against Passau threatens to be cancelled

"We have to stay focused and improve significantly as a team," is Saal's announcement before the home game, in which the people from Peiting can really exhaust themselves, since in all likelihood the guest game at the Passau Black Hawks planned for Friday will be cancelled.

The corona virus has spread again in Lower Bavaria, so that the Passau team is threatened with game cancellations.
