For his first tenure against Ireland at 19, he injured his left knee, contracting a partial rupture of the posterior ligament, synonymous with the season over.
The following August, during a friendly match in South Africa, he injured the same knee and was sidelined for six months.
He will remain a year without playing an official match, and will not see the Blues again until early 2020 after missing the 2019 World Cup.
