The Milan Prosecutor's Office has requested this Tuesday the extradition and an arrest warrant for former Brazilian player Robson de Souza "Robinho" for raping a 22-year-old woman with his friend Riccardo Falco and other individuals in a Milan nightclub in 2013. With the issuance of the international arrest warrant, the former Real Madrid and Manchester City player, among other clubs, could be arrested if he left his country and was located in any other country that does have an extradition agreement with Italy.
The victim of the rape is a young Albanian woman who lives in Italy and who at the time of the events was in the nightclub celebrating her birthday.
The group got her drunk and abused her, who was unconscious, in her wardrobe, according to the investigation, based on the testimony of the victim and listening to the player and others involved.
The Court of Cassation of the Italian Justice confirmed the footballer's sentence of nine years in prison on January 19.
The unknown is whether he will serve the sentence imposed in 2017 and initially confirmed in 2020. According to the Brazilian press, the Constitution of his country prohibits the extradition of its citizens.
The striker won his main titles before committing the crime with a group of fellow countrymen.
He won two confederation cups (2005-2009), one Copa América (2007), two league championships with Real Madrid (2007-2008), one Spanish Super Cup, one Italian Super Cup and he won Serie A with Milan in 2011. Before playing in Europe, he won two Brazilian championships with Santos.
In the years after the sexual assault, he played in China and Turkey.
