A wellness resort on the northern tip of Qatar is the top favorite for the German national team during the World Cup at the end of this year.

An official announcement of the district election is not expected until March at the earliest.

But: When looking for accommodation for the World Cup, coach Hansi Flick seems to be moving to the north of Qatar with the German national team.

According to information from the German Press Agency, a wellness resort on the northern tip of the country is the DFB's favorite when it comes to the national team's home base during the World Cup.

This is a luxurious apartment complex right on the coast of the Persian Gulf.

World Cup in Qatar: Fifa only confirms the quarters of the national team in mid-June

FIFA can only confirm the hotel in mid-June - until then the last two World Cup participants in the intercontinental playoffs will be determined.

The world association confirmed this on Tuesday (February 15).

By the time the group draw takes place on April 1st, most of the top teams will have signed their contracts.

The World Cup takes place from November 21st to December 18th.

On the way to winning the World Cup with national coach Joachim Löw and his assistant Flick at the time, the DFB team had perfect accommodation in Campo Bahia on the Brazilian Atlantic beach in 2014.

After the early end of the 2018 World Cup by the German national team, there was a lot of criticism from DFB circles at the hotel in Watutinki on the outskirts of Moscow.

World Cup quarters: the German national football team prefers a secluded location

After qualifying, Flick indicated several times that he preferred a World Cup hotel away from the metropolis of Doha.

For a secluded location, they are happy to accept the relatively large distance of up to 100 kilometers to the stadiums for Qatar - in order to be able to tackle the mission recovered from the fifth World Cup title.

Recently, DFB delegations have been to Qatar on a hotel inspection trip.

Flick flew to Doha in late 2021.

Recently, DFB director Oliver Bierhoff had emphasized in view of the criticism of the World Cup host Qatar that the hotel had to meet strict labor and human rights criteria when dealing with employees and suppliers.
