Will FC Bayern move soon?

According to one report, the bosses are dreaming of a new home for the club.

Munich – Säbener Straße* has been the home of FC Bayern* for 62 years.

Office, training grounds and much more are hidden behind the gates of house number 51 in Munich's Untergiesing-Harlaching district.

A new home?

Hardly imaginable.

But that is apparently a serious consideration.

As

Sport Bild

reports, citing its own information, the club's management is questioning its own infrastructure in the internal club strategy paper.

An analysis has shown that there is a “pent-up demand” in this regard.

Internally, there would be no ban on thinking, and moving to the site of the newly built FC Bayern campus should also be an option.

New home for FC Bayern?

"Have to find ways to stay competitive"

In the first week of February there is said to have been a meeting where the subject of Säbener Straße was on the agenda.

Apparently Bayern are dreaming of a new "super complex".

The crux of the matter: Munich fears being left behind by the competition in terms of infrastructure.

"Many top European clubs now have a significant competitive advantage and we at FC Bayern have to find ways to remain competitive.

For this we need growth impulses”, emphasized CEO Oliver Kahn*.

In fact, other top clubs have pulled away on this point - Säbener Straße as a location can no longer be compared with the facilities of Manchester City*, Liverpool FC* or Real Madrid*.

David Alaba recently raved about his own room on the club premises: "It's a great thing.

You have a retreat there between training sessions.”

FC Bayern: Building a new club center would be expensive

The premises on Säbener Straße are showing their age and there is little room for expansion.

Nevertheless, a move in the near future is unlikely.

The campus option is difficult to implement because the site was acquired by the German Armed Forces and cannot be used for commercial purposes for ten years.

A new building is likely to be extremely expensive, the Bavarians invested around 70 million euros in the ultra-modern campus just a few years ago.

FC Bayern will not have to say goodbye to the venerable Säbener Straße any time soon.
