At the end of 2021, the Olympic team champion had filed a complaint for aggravated voluntary violence against her companion and coach.

A few words on her Facebook page seal 6 years of collaboration: “After almost 6 seasons spent at ESBM, it is time for me to open up to other horizons and other perspectives, writes Margaux Pinot.

After several months of reflection, I announce my departure from my favorite club.

Of course, I wish my teammates the best of luck.

I am ready for a fresh start and new adventures to come.

»

Margaux Pinot, the Olympic team champion leaves her club, ES Blanc-Mesnil (Seine-Saint-Denis) where she arrived the day after the Rio Games in September 2016. Before putting on her kimono, the native judoka from Besançon had passed through Vesoul, Mulhouse and Levallois-Perret.

At Blanc-Mesnil, Margaux Pinot became European team champion in 2017, individual European champion in 2020, Olympic team champion in 2021 but also French club champion in 2018.

Her last success with the club dates back just 10 days, a victory in the Grand Slam of Paris in the under 70 kg category: “It is with great emotion that Margaux Pinot announced to me her departure from ES Blanc -Mesnil judo, reacts the mayor (SL) of the town Thierry Meignen.

We obviously understand his desire to turn the page.

We will not forget what she brought to Blanc-Mesnil.

Thanks champion!

The club for its part has not yet reacted to this announcement.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, I was attacked at my home by my companion and trainer.

I was insulted, punched,

my head was hit on the ground several times.

And finally strangled.

In her departure message, Margaux Pinot does not specify where her "new adventures to come" will lead her.

She does not reveal the name of her new club and this one, if she has already signed there, does not announce it yet either.

Since the beginning of the year, the Olympic team champion has been training with Ludovic Delacotte, also in charge of Clarisse Agbégnénou, and she has approached Insep as a base camp.

But one thing is certain: with this approach, Margaux Pinot wants to turn the page.

The judoka suffered the full force of the media surge following the complaint filed against her former companion and trainer Alain Schmitt, who will be retried in a few weeks after being released at first instance for "aggravated willful violence".

At the end of November, Margaux Pinot had shared a photo of her swollen face, accusing her coach from Blanc-Mesnil and companion Alain Schmitt of having violently attacked her.

She had filed a complaint.

Relaxed at first instance but awaiting a new judgment, Alain Schmitt was appointed coach of the Bulgarian national team a few days ago.
