For the first time in his career, the 30-year-old skier will finish his Games without an individual medal.

Wednesday, in the mixed zone of Yanqing looking like a cemetery of his Olympic ambitions, Alexis Pinturault did not try to beat around the bush.

As throughout his career, the skier from Courchevel is not in the habit of hiding.

Nor to seek useless excuses.

“My whole season has been like this and there were no miracles here.

I started the season tired.

A feeling that got worse from race to race.

I felt nervously exhausted, unable to recharge the batteries.

Now it's weeks or even months that I need to recover from all of this.

It's only when I find that flame and that energy inside of me that everything will realign."
