After three and a half seasons at Maccabi Tel Aviv and one particularly jarring loss in the derby, Yannis Sapropoulos finished his job yesterday.
Sapropoulos wrote: "Once Maccabist, always Maccabist! I want to especially thank the owners of Maccabi Tel Aviv for giving me the opportunity to coach this legendary club. I want to thank the players I coached during the last four seasons for their cooperation. I would also like to thank the management, the coaches , To the team members and the Maccabi office staff for the great professional cooperation between us.I only knew members of Maccabi.

"Last but not least, I want to thank each and every one of the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans for all the love they expressed towards me. These moments of love will always live in a special place in my heart.
"Unfortunately, we have not performed well lately, although we have tried to get our team out of a difficult situation. I am leaving the club I love knowing I worked in those four seasons while adopting and displaying the Maccabian mentality and fighting spirit that characterizes the club. "Good luck to everyone at the club down the road. Come on Maccabi!"
