There is a tense mood at FC Bayern - and now it's off to RB Salzburg in the first leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League.

What do those involved say?

Salzburg/Munich – At FC Bayern* there was not a good atmosphere recently.

The reason?

The steep 2:4 defeat at VfL Bochum last weekend.

Luck is announced directly in the Champions League*!

There it goes in the first leg of the round of 16 to RB Salzburg.

However, it's not just about sport on Säbener Straße.

The situation in terms of contracts is also quite tense in terms of personnel.

What's next for Corentin Tolisso, whose contract expires in the summer?

Or with Thomas Müller, Robert Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer, whose contracts each run until 2023?

Another extension is probably imminent for the keeper.

It is "right at the top of the agenda," emphasized CEO Oliver Kahn.

Neuer is also the undisputed number one for coach Julian Nagelsmann*.

"As long as I'm healthy, fit, having fun and being needed, I'll keep playing.

That's a good plan, isn't it?" said Neuer.

In Salzburg, the keeper is injured.

But maybe sports director Hasan Salihamidžić or FCB boss Kahn will reveal any news about contract extensions or personnel planning?

It will also be interesting to see how coach Nagelsmann explains his line-up.

We summarize for you the voices on DAZN about the game between FC Bayern and RB Salzburg

.

Julian Nagelsmann (coach, FC Bayern) before the game over...

... the mood in the team:

"It's good, we've worked up Bochum well.

The frame makes a positive contribution here.

It will do us good.”

... the match plan:

"We know that Salzburg is characterized by pressing and counter-pressing.

We must have good alternatives and sometimes solve things more simply.

With good ball security, we want to keep the opponent away from our goal.”

... the strengths of RB Salzburg, who follow a similar approach to the game as Bochum:

"The opponent comes through emotions and physicality.

You will meet us on an equal footing in this regard.

After the Bochum game, many solutions came from the team.”

... the line-up:

"We only played with one central, defensive midfielder at the weekend.

Therefore, with Coco Tolisso, there is now a player who will oscillate between the ten and the six.

He is a great balance player who has a great will to win.

He will do us good.”

Hasan Salihamidžić (Head of Sport, FC Bayern) before the game over ...

... the consequences of the defeat at the weekend:

"We didn't play that well in Bochum, so we were a bit surprised by Bochum's intensive game.

Today we have to present ourselves differently.

We know how Salzburg plays.”

… the alleged criticism of the squad from coach Nagelsmann and Uli Hoeneß:

“No, I didn’t understand that as criticism at all.

I don't understand Uli Hoeneß's criticism as criticism either.

He loves FC Bayern.

But losing 4-2 in Bochum is not Bayern-like.

I talk to the coach every day, we really work perfectly together.

We have Jamal Musiala, Leon Goretzka, Phonzie Davies and now Manuel Neuer, who we have been missing for a long time.

You can tell"

... the vehement statements made by Matthew in the direction of Upamecano:

"Sure, Lothar has to say something.

He's an expert.

But I don't care what he says.

We know we didn't play well."

… the pressure in the Champions League:

“Of course it starts now.

We have prepared the team well, we are happy.

Playing in front of 30,000 spectators is of course fun!”

Matthias Jaissle (RB Salzburg coach) before the game over ...

… FCB's defeat at the weekend:

"Of course we analyzed the game, but something like this happens every jubilee year that FC Bayern gets four goals away from home.

That was a blip.”

... his match plan:

"We want to defend it compactly, we have to get through the phases in which Bayern press and then be up to speed in the transition situations."
