In the summer of 2007, Bayern signed Argentinian José Ernesto Sosa.
Actually, the Munich team had previously aimed for a future superstar, but they opted for the later flop.
Munich – With tears, Sergio Agüero announced the end of his eventful career in mid-December.
The Argentine striker rose to become a legend at Manchester City* with numerous goals and most recently played at FC Barcelona.
Heart problems plagued him in Spain, which ultimately led to his retirement at the age of 33.
At the beginning of his career, FC Bayern* was also interested in the attacker, and the media were already reporting on a move to Germany.
Agüero* surprisingly revealed the background to the failed transfer to the record champions on Tuesday.

The Argentinian almost ended up in Munich in 2006, but as is well known, it was to be different.
As a teenager, Agüero drew attention to himself as an accurate centre-forward at his youth club Club Atlético Independiente. In 2005 and 2007 he won the U20 World Cup with the Albiceleste and was top scorer once.
In the summer of 2006, however, it was not FC Bayern* who signed him, but Atlético Madrid.
Agüero moved to Europe for almost 22 million euros and from then on collected a large number of titles.
"Kun" now gave the reason for the change on Twitter.
“Bayern Munich came to see me at a game against Estudiantes de la Plata.
I just played terribly and they loved José Sosa.
They bought him," said the offensive player.
Sosa came in the summer of 2007 from La Plata, a province of Buenos Aires, for the then quite high transfer fee of 9 million euros.
However, he never prevailed at Bayern, despite his 53 appearances for the FCB pros, he is one of the transfer flops of recent years.

But it was only after his time in the Bundesliga that Sosa blossomed.
After his early exit from Bayern, he played for SSC Naples, AC Milan or on loan for Atlético Madrid*.
The now 36-year-old is currently pulling the strings in central midfield at Fenerbahce Istanbul, it is his third stop in Turkey.
In April 2006, Aguero faced each other at Independiente and Sosa at Estudiantes.

Bayern would certainly not have done anything wrong with Agüero's commitment, after all he is still the most accurate foreigner in Premier League* history with 184 goals in 275 games.
Whether the Argentinian would have settled in well in Germany and especially at FC Bayern is another matter.
