Maccabi Tel Aviv

Summary: Hapoel Tel Aviv - Maccabi Tel Aviv 3: 2, dramatic victory goal for Lubanovich (Sport 1)

Maccabi Tel Aviv landed today (Wednesday) in the Netherlands after a 5-hour charter flight ahead of tomorrow's game against PSV Eindhoven, for cloudy and rainy weather.

The team went to a hotel in the city and from there to Phillips Stadium where the press conference and concluding training were held in preparation for the first game of the knockout stage (Thursday, 19:45, Sports 3).

"PSV is a very good team with a strong squad, this is life in football - you can not choose a rival," said coach Mladen Krastic, "I expect our players to continue to play at the same pace as in recent games. We respect the opponent, but we flew here "To achieve a good result. This is my philosophy, we will try to beat every opponent, not just against PSV. I am sure the players know what to expect, they are ready."

Captain Sharan Yeni added: "That's why we play football, to come to such pitches against such teams. We want to challenge ourselves all the time to see how good we are. We know they are a good team, but we came to fight and show who we are."

About Eran Zehavi, Yeni said: "He is a good friend, everyone appreciates him very much, we wish him the best except in games against us. We want him to score a lot of goals, but not against us. He knows us well, he sure told PSV who we are and what We are doing".

At PSV they take the Conference League seriously.

Vinicius, Ibrahim Sangra and Olivier Buscali may miss the game due to the accumulation of yellow cards, but the team hopes to put together a strong lineup, including Eran Zehavi and Noni Madwaka.

Aside from being sent off, PSV will have to make do even without the injured Maxi Romero, Ryan Thomas and Andre Ramallah.

The Dutch will have only two natural brakes on the squad and coach Roger Schmidt said at the press conference: "When things like this happen, you have to be creative."

The German coach added: "It is quite unusual for us to be in international European factories at this stage of the season. We had a lot of games this season, we suffered a lot of injuries, but currently the team is in pretty good shape. Now it's our time to be at our best.

Is PSV aiming for the final?

"Of course," Schmidt said, "we have a chance."
