The best conditions were at the Zwergerlcup in Oberaudorf, well organized by SV Hörlkofen.

Hörlkofen

– Who should moderate a dwarf cup?

A unicorn, of course.

“Maximilian Ramm got a costume especially for this,” says Ruth Riepl.

"And he mastered his job as stadium announcer with flying colors." Just like everyone else from the 13-strong construction team of SV Hörlkofen, which, under the direction of Max Altmann, perfectly organized the first ski race at district level in almost two years.

58 girls and boys between the ages of five and ten took part in Oberaudorf.

The youngest participant, Johanna Proebst from SC Auerbach, turns five this year.

They were divided into the categories pupil 6, pupil 8 and pupil 10, each subdivided according to gender and according to "new slope weasels" and "experienced racing foxes".

And then it went down the hill.

The name of the route, Idealhang, fitted perfectly with the conditions that the little skiers found in glorious weather.

Franz Fehlberger and Matthias Fruth set the course, which the children all mastered.

"Everything went off without injury or problems," said HSV press spokeswoman Riepl.

Fastest of the day was Lorenz Stöckl from SC Dorfen, who, according to the timekeepers Bastian Emmer and Anton Renner, sped down the slope in 23.96 seconds.

The fastest girl was Grace Fordham from Skiclub Buch (26.64 sec).

"In the end, however, all were winners, all children received a prize," says Riepl.

The medals and trophies were donated by the district.

Patron District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer personally presented them to the little ski aces in Oberaudorf.

"It was an all-round successful start to the season," said a delighted Riepl.

Next weekend the big ones can start again.

The first two runs of the district cup will take place in Kössen.

And you will no longer see Maximilian Ramm as a unicorn, but as part of the HSV racing team.
