FC Bayern Munich just missed an embarrassment.

The international press comments on the Champions League round of 16 in Salzburg.

Salzburg - That was close!

FC Bayern Munich narrowly misses a Champions League embarrassment.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann's side were 1-0 down in Salzburg for 69 minutes.

Only at the last minute did Kingsley Coman secure the 1:1 for the German record champions.

And so in the end it's a good starting position for the round of 16 second leg on March 8th.

Salzburg were of course the blatant outsiders before the duel, RB had never reached the knockout phase of the premier class.

In the sold-out Red Bull Arena, German coach Matthias Jaissle's team put the pressure on right from the start and played impressive power football.

The 30,000 spectators liked it - Bayern seemed overwhelmed, especially in the first half, and the lightning-fast DFB jewel Karim Adeyemi caused unrest in the Munich back line.

In the end, Salzburg were only a few seconds short of the sensation.

And yet it was an outstanding football evening: floodlights, fans, emotions, Champions League - that's how European Cup nights are fun!

Incidentally, the press also finds it.

We summarize the reactions to the Salzburg almost fairy tale and the Munich almost embarrassment.
