Basically, says coach Hubert Müller, he can't say anything about the home game of his SV Anzing on Saturday at 6 p.m. against TuS Fürstenfeldbruck II. "Neither about the opponent nor about us."
Anzing
– There are two main explanations for so much uncertainty.
Firstly, it is the first Bayern league game for the Anzinger handball team in three months.
And secondly, this game is also overshadowed by the pandemic.
"It's going to be a gamble.
And a gamble,” says the coach.
So he will not know until shortly before kick-off which players he can fall back on and how fit they are.
After all, several Löwen handball players have been infected with the corona virus in the past few weeks - although they have all been boosted by now.
As a result, the appearance in Landshut and the home derby against HT Munich had to be canceled.
And when the people in Anzing thought the worst was over last week, another quick test was positive on Tuesday.
"The player trained with the others on Monday," reports Müller.
It is therefore now necessary to wait and see whether teammates have been infected.
"You just have to get used to this uncertainty now," says Müller, who trains the SVA together with Kay Hoffmann.
"That will be part of everyday life for the time being."
On the other hand, the general conditions on Saturday will not be commonplace - provided the game takes place.
Only half of the grandstand may be occupied, in compliance with the 2G rule.
The majority of the tickets were distributed to club members, reports Müller.
There will be no evening box office, and the guest fans will be completely left out - "because the effort would be too great," explains the coach.
His team - the only undefeated team in both handball leagues - is the clear favorite on paper.
In the first leg in Fürstenfeldbruck there was an easy 33:25 victory in mid-November.
Will it be as clear this time?
That will probably be decided not least by the personnel situation on both sides - and with it the pandemic.
