The struggle between Hapoel Tel Aviv and the Referees 'Union following the events of the State Cup finals is escalating: the Reds have issued a scathing letter addressed to the heads of the Basketball Association and the heads of the Referees' Union, with some perplexities and demands.
Hapoel Tel Aviv asks why the best referees in Israel were not included in the cup final and refers mainly to the placement of referee Nir Myerson in the game.
In recent days, we have accumulated many more cases in which Judge Myerson is involved in wrong and abusive decisions towards Hapoel Tel Aviv.
"In fact - Hapoel Tel Aviv has not won a game in which referee Nir Myerson since May last year, including a balance of four losses, including many cases of blatant errors of judgment, in addition to a balance of eight whistles against Hapoel Tel Aviv in the final game compared to only two whistles for Hapoel Tel Aviv." .
Hapoel Tel Aviv therefore demands an immediate disqualification from Myerson from refereeing, at least from the team's games.

The team also requires the appointment of an examiner and an external examination to be done in the referees' association: "We demand full transparency and criticism of the level of refereeing, similar to other sports in Israel and around the world, which includes a detailed report after each game.
"They say that the sun purifies everything - the referees must also be exposed to criticism and transparency about their decisions - and it is better that we start with the final game."
