The Syrian basketball team will meet the Sharjah team today at 5:30 pm at the Sharjah Club Hall, in preparation for the second window of the 2023 World Cup qualifiers, in which Bahrain and Iran will meet on the 24th and 27th of this month, respectively.
This match comes within the external training camp that our team started yesterday, where the players underwent training sessions in which Spanish coach Javier Juarez focused on some offensive and defensive tactical sentences, in addition to some fitness exercises.
The list of players participating in the camp included Tariq Al-Jabi / Majd Arbasha / Omar Idlebi / Omar Sheikh Ali / Abdel Wahab Al-Hamwi / Hani Idribi / Anas Shaaban / Zakaria Al-Hussein / Anthony Bakr / Jamil Sadeer / Sherif Al-Esh / Nadim Issa / in addition to the professional in Emirates Amer Al-Sati and the professional in Turkey, Kamal Jumblatt.
It is noteworthy that the draw for the qualifiers placed the Syrian team in the fourth group, accompanied by the teams of Iran, Kazakhstan and Bahrain, where the qualifying system for the Asian continent depends on the distribution of the sixteen participating teams into four groups, each group includes four teams distributed according to geographical division, two groups for East Asia and the same for West Asia. The first stage is played in a system Home and away The top three teams from each group qualify for the second stage of the qualifiers.
