Olympic Games: less than 100,000 spectators attended the events

The Beijing Olympics did not attract large crowds to the various Olympic sites.

Due to the drastic measures taken against the spread of Covid-19 in China, the organizers had decided this year to cancel the sale of tickets to the public.

Result: only a few guests and members of the various staffs and of the IOC were present in the stands.

Beijing 2022 reported that less than 100,000 people had attended the events, 97,000 precisely before the last two days of competition, knowing that 40,000 people had taken place in the Olympic stadium for the opening ceremony.

1 million tickets had found takers at the previous Olympic Games in South Korea.
