The Syrian national basketball team defeated the UAE team, Sharjah, with a score of 70-65 points, in the match that was held today at the Sharjah Club Hall, in preparation for the resumption of its participation in the World Cup qualifiers.
Sharjah advanced in the first quarter with a score of 16-15, in the second quarter with a score of 33-29, and in the third with a score of 52-47. However, our team was able to settle the match in the fourth quarter by scoring 23 points, compared to 13 points for Sharjah, which made the final result in the interest of our team by 70- 65 points.
This is the second friendly match of our national team within its external training camp, which is being held in the United Arab Emirates, in preparation for the second window of the qualifiers.
Our team lost the first friendly match with the same team, 73-66 points.
It is noteworthy that our team has completed its external camp in the Emirates, and will leave tomorrow for Manama, in preparation for meeting the Bahraini team next Thursday in the first matches of our team in the second window of the 2023 World Cup qualifiers.
