The professional committee of the referees' association examined the various disputed events in the game between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Bnei Herzliya and found that mistakes had been made: "The union rejects outright the attempt to attribute foreign considerations."

The professional committee of the referees' association examined yesterday (Sunday) the controversial events in last week's state cup final game between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Bnei Herzliya and found that some of the decisions were wrong.

The following are some of the committee's conclusions at the main events:

Amsalem's unsportsmanlike offense is correct

Decision not to whistle a valid offense to camp on Timor - wrong

The decision not to whistle for Bab's offense on Timor in the penetration - wrong

The decision to whistle for Zalmanson's offense on Sean Dawson in the penetration is right

The decision not to whistle for Bab's offense on Young with a 3-point shot is incorrect

The union says in response to Hapoel Tel Aviv's harsh claims: "The referees' union rejects outright the attempt to attribute foreign considerations to the decisions of one referee or another in the final game or in general.

All referees, without exception, make every effort to judge the games in the best and most professional way.

"The personal and professional honesty of all our referees is of the highest rank, as expected of basketball referees and in general. No one can doubt that, even if there are professional errors in the games."

Regarding the demand to disqualify referee Nir Myerson from Hapoel Tel Aviv's games, the union responds:

The placement of the judges will continue to be carried out at the professional discretion of the judges' association only. "
