Tennis Olympic champion Alexander Zverev was disqualified after freaking out at the tournament in Acapulco.
The 24-year-old from Hamburg is no longer allowed to compete in his singles round of 16 against the German Peter Gojowczyk, according to the ATP, the association of professional male tennis players.
As a result, Munich's Gojowczyk advanced to the quarter-finals without a fight.
Zverev had lost his composure after his double defeat and vented his anger on the referee's chair.
He clearly yelled at the referee ("You bloody idiot").
After the 1: 2 (2: 6, 6: 4, 6:10) alongside Brazilian Marcelo Melo against Lloyd Glasspool/Harri Heliövaara (Great Britain/Finland), Zverev let his frustration run free.
He yelled at the referee several times after the first round match and repeatedly banged his racquet on his chair.
It wasn't Zverev's first freak out.
Most recently, he smashed a racquet after losing out on the round of 16 at the Australian Open against Canadian Denis Shapovalov.
