ESC trainer Franz Steer has classified the recent victory as happy and sharpens the senses before the next tasks.

Dorfen/Königsbrunn

- This is the correct answer in a playdown round.

The opening defeat in the home game against Geretsried was followed by three victories for ESC Dorfen in the fight to stay up in the Bayernliga: 4:2 in Schweinfurt, 5:1 in Geretsried and most recently 4:3 in the home game against Königsbrunn.

The reward: third place in the sevens competition.

Now it's up to the Eispiraten to survive today at 8 p.m. against EC Paffenhofen and on Sunday at 6 p.m. in Königsbrunn.

Especially on Sunday, the ESC in the Hydro-Tech-Arena should face a "strong wind".

The memories of the unfortunate 3:4 defeat of Königsbrunn in Dorfen (we reported) are still too fresh for that.

Interim coach Sven Rampf, formerly a first division player himself, was particularly harsh on his front row at the press conference after the heart-stopping final on Tuesday evening.

"I put the German-Finns Miettinen in the front row specifically in the last third, and the people who have all played in higher leagues conceded two goals against them." Row that struggled and made it 2-2 and 3-2."

The villagers were cleverer in the end and ultimately deserved to win.

For this he received applause from the Dorfen fans in the stadium restaurant, but also from ESC coach Franz Steer, who also addressed the coach he knew well: "We didn't deserve to win, and your statement honors me." Steer said he had fallen into old patterns and still had a few good chances in the second third, "but other than that it wasn't the kind of ice hockey I always teach the boys."

He doesn't let anything come out of his team, "but things that aren't right should be addressed openly."

That's why he hopes that more concentration will be played again at the weekend, otherwise it won't be possible to continue on the path that has been taken in the next two games.

EC Pfaffenhofen, who defeated Königsbrunn 3:1 in a very close game last Sunday, are already coming to Dorfen today.

The table penultimate will pose another big challenge for the ice pirates, especially with his top team around Nick Endreß, Jakub Felsöci and Danny Hanlon.
