The Syrian team for special sports continued its brilliance in the West Asian Paralympic Games currently being held in Bahrain, by winning two new medals today, one gold and the other silver.

The gold medal came through Khalil Mahmoud by discus throwing, while Abdel Rahman Hamroush won the silver discus as well, in the F57 category.

Our national team players, Azzam Al-Ahmad and Abdel-Rahman Hamroush, won two silver medals earlier today in the same tournament, where Al-Ahmad achieved silver javelin throwing with classification F13 in the blind category, and Hamroush was crowned with silver javelin throwing with classification F57.

Yesterday, our team won a gold for Khalil Mahmoud in the throwing competition, a gold for Firas Shiha in the badminton competition in the singles, a bronze in the doubles, a silver by Amer Sammour in the singles, a bronze for Issa Hassan in the singles as well, and a silver for them in the doubles.

700 male and female players with special needs will participate in the tournament, representing 12 teams competing in seven sports.
