The Syrian national basketball team defeated its Bahraini counterpart 80-64 points in the second window of the World Cup qualifiers, in the match that brought them together today in the Bahraini capital, Manama.

Our team advanced in the first quarter by 19-7 points, and ended the second quarter and the first half of the match, 20 points ahead, by 39-19 points.

Our team continued to advance until the end of the third quarter with 62-40 points to settle the match at the end of the fourth quarter, announcing its victory with a score of 80-64 points.

Our team had lost against its Kazakh counterpart in the first leg of the first window of the qualifiers, with a score of 74-84 points, during their meeting in the Kazakh capital, Nur Sultan, and also lost in the return match within the same window, which brought them together in Al-Fayha Sports City in Damascus, with a score of 71-81 points.

Our team's list for the match included Sherif Al-Ish, Majd Arbasha, Zakaria Al-Hussein, Anthony Bakr, Hani Edribi, Abdel-Wahab Al-Hamwi, Anas Shaaban, Nadim Issa, Omar Sheikh Ali, Jamil Sadeer, Kamal Jumblatt, and the naturalized Amir Jabbar.

It is noteworthy that the draw for the qualifiers placed our national team in the fourth group, accompanied by the teams of Iran, Kazakhstan and Bahrain, where the qualifier system for the Asian continent depends on the distribution of the sixteen participating teams into four groups, each group includes four teams distributed according to the geographical division, two groups for East Asia and the same for West Asia. The first three teams from each group qualify for the second stage of the qualifiers.
