Who will win the derby this time?

Theoretically, the play-offs for the Peißenberg "Miners" are still within reach.

Meanwhile, the team is setting other goals - and is looking at EA Schongau.

Peißenberg – The “Miners” of TSV Peißenberg still have six games to play in the Bayernliga promotion round.

As the pointless bottom of this round, the play-off train has not yet finally left.

With eleven points behind the necessary fourth place, the chance is very small.

"You have to be realistic.

We would have to win everything and the competition would have to lose a lot of feathers," explains Sepp Staltmayr.

He recently took over the sporting helm of the Bavarian league together with Stefan Ihsen after the resignation of coach Christian Kratzmeir (we reported).

Meanwhile, the Peißenbergers have set themselves a different goal – one that seems more feasible.

"We want to have the best district team in the Bavarian league and leave Schongau behind us in the table," according to Staltmayr, the "Miners" are now focusing on their neighboring rivals, who are seventh with an eight-point lead.

"We'll play two more games against EAS, everything's still possible," says Staltmayr.

The first derby takes place this Friday (8 p.m.) in Schongau and the second on the penultimate day of the round (March 11) in Peißenberg.

Anticipation for the derby against EA Schongau

"The game is something special for everyone and it has its own rules," said Staltmayr and the whole Peißenberger team looking forward to the duels.

There is also a reunion with former teammates such as Florian Höfler and Matthias Müller.

The "Mammuts" were challenged in a catch-up game on Wednesday.

They won 3:2 against EHC Waldkraiburg after being down 0:2.

The goals were scored by Kevin Steiner (32'), Jason Lavallee (39') and Roman Tomanek (52'/on the power play).

In the main round, the opponents have already faced each other twice - in each case the away team was ahead by a nose.

The EAS won against the "Miners" with 5:3, while the Peißenberger am Lech left the ice with a 2:1 victory as the winner.

The men from the Ammer have the same balanced record in the main round against ESV Buchloe, which they expect on Sunday (5.30 p.m.).

Home game against the "Pirates" from Buchloe

But the memory of the most recent comparison with the “Pirates” at the beginning of the promotion round is even fresher, when Peißenberger, weakened by Corona failures, got under the wheels 5:11.

"We still have a huge score to settle," makes Staltmayr clear.

"We know how Buchloe plays," the coach promises the table sixth a hot dance on carnival Sunday.

In the case of the “Pirates”, you should pay particular attention to the storm duo Michal Petrak/Alex Kraczyk.

Both together have collected 130 scorer points (35 goals/85 assists) in the preliminary and promotion rounds.

"We trained well," says Staltmayr, seeing his team ready.

"Everything is possible in both games, we will try everything to get the first points in the round," promises Staltmayr, who has the best players available except for the long-term injuries (Martin Andrä, Max Brauer).

There is a small question mark over Moritz Birkner's commitment.
