The Yeshiva University basketball team qualified yesterday (Sunday) for the national college tournament NCAA Division 3 that will open this weekend, after defeating Manhattanville College 40:74.
The one who attracts the most attention is guard Ryan Tourel (22, 2.00m), who is being watched by scouts from NBA teams, thanks to averages of 28 points per game and 48 percent off the arc.
Tourel, who scored 16 points yesterday and added 9 rebounds, is considered one of the best players in college basketball in the United States outside of Division 1.

Before starting his college career, the actor who juggled the parquet received a few winking proposals from prestigious colleges in Division 1, but decided to enroll in a university yeshiva after the Chabad rabbi told him that he would have a hard time maintaining a religious lifestyle at another institution.
SWEET MOVE.
LEIFER TO TURELL.

His record game was provided by the YU superstar last November against the same team he met yesterday, Manhattanville, finishing with no less than 51 points.
Earlier today Ryan Turell put on a show for the @YUathletics, setting a school record 51 points, with his brother Jack on the broadcast, putting the "color" in color commentator.

About two months ago, Tourel was interviewed by "Israel Today" and told about his ambition to reach the best league in the world, and then play in Israel: "My dream has always been to play professional basketball in Israel. I remember visiting Israel at 9 and since then I have a special relationship. "To play in the Israeli league. I imagined it from the age of 9. With the help of the name, I hope to reach the NBA and after that return to Israel."
