Following the war in Ukraine, FIBA will soon make a decision on whether to remove the Russian team and Russian teams from all the various factories.
As you may recall, FIFA and UEFA decided yesterday (Monday) to keep Russia and its teams out of all tournaments, and now it's time for basketball.
At a meeting to be held today with the participation of FIBA leaders, it will be finally decided how to act, with the assessment that the groups will be removed, at least for the foreseeable future.
One of the main issues is the participation of Avtodor Saratov in the EuropeanCap factory.
The Russian team has qualified for the quarter-finals where it is set to meet Sporting Lisbon.
The games are scheduled to take place later this month.
