Exclamation point from SC Riessersee: On Tuesday evening, SCR defeated EC Peiting well deserved 3-0.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen – In sports, it is sometimes difficult to explain when or how the famous switch was flipped for a team.

At SC Riessersee, however, one thing is clear: there will be a team on the ice at the beginning of March 2022.

No, wrongly formulated: also next to the ice.

The entire bank went along in the final minutes of the derby against EC Peiting.

Every blocked shot, every further save by goalie Michael Boehm was celebrated.

The SCR fought passionately for this important victory - and was rewarded.

Guest coach Anton Saal put it in a nutshell: "SCR wanted this win more." The white-blue team also deservedly beat EC Peiting 3-0 in the ice hockey Oberliga Süd.

SC Riessersee now tied with Peiting and Höchstadt

Those declared dead live longer.

Two weeks ago you were still sure that the (direct) playoff train for SC Riessersee had left, but the white-blue can hope for sixth place again with two games left.

Both Riessersee, Peiting and Höchstadt are now at 49 points.

However, the ECP played one game less.

The people of Garmisch-Partenkirchen are right in the middle of it instead of just fighting for the direct playoff place.

The success against Peiting was the fourth win in a row for the Riesserseer team.

Coach Pat Cortina was impressed with his team's level of fitness: "I was surprised by our energy.

That was our fourth game in eight days.

A good performance by the team.”

The most disappointing thing from the SCR point of view that evening: only 553 spectators wanted to watch this derby, which is so important for both teams, live in the OEZ.

The guests from Peiting brought just a handful of spectators to the market town.

The trip was not worth it for them - from the start the white-blue set the tone on the ice.

The disc went well in the ranks of the hosts, who created chances every minute.

Only: In front of guest goalie Florian Hechenrieder, the SCR acted far, far too harmlessly.

The fact that the Riesserseer were only 1-0 up to the 43rd minute seemed like a farce.

But then Alexandre Perron-Fontaine let his opponent run into space and scored to make it 2-0.

Redemption for the Riesserseer.

SC Riessersee: Goalie Michael Boehm shows outstanding performance

The fans in the OEZ only had to tremble once before: After half an hour, captain Florian Vollmer rushed to his goalie Boehm.

The veteran thanked Boehm - knowing full well that he had almost deprived his team of the reward for the great effort.

When the score was 1:0, Vollmer unnecessarily put the disc directly in front of a Peitingen attacker.

Boehm prevented the impact and was celebrated by the fans in the east stand.

Until then, the goalie had been almost unemployed, the SCR acted too oppressively, the Peitinger presented themselves too harmlessly.

Only after the 2:0 did the guests wake up and increase the pressure.

In this phase, Boehm showed once again that he is more than just a reliable substitute for Daniel Allavena.

He was able to look forward to goals from his team very early and very late in the game.

After four minutes, Elias Lindner put his colors ahead with a shot into the short corner.

And 30 seconds before the end, Robin Soudek marked the 3-0 final score into the orphaned ECP case.

Both teams will meet again in Peiting on Friday.

With a win, the SCR could overtake its direct competitor in the table.
