FC Bayern is looking for a successor to Niklas Süle.
There are growing signs that a German international is moving to Munich: Matthias Ginter.
Munich – Niklas Süle leaves FC Bayern Munich* at the end of the season and joins Borussia Dortmund.
The news of this transfer surprised the whole of football Germany a few weeks ago - especially since the national player is turning his back on the record champions for free.
A scenario the Reds always want to avoid.
After David Alaba, Jerome Boateng and Javi Martinez it has now happened again.
Since that news, of course, there has been a lot of speculation.
Who will replace Süle at Bayern?
The media quickly spoke of a “Plan A” and a “Plan B”.
Allegedly, the Dane Andreas Christensen was the favored solution of sports director Hasan Salihamidzic.
The defender will leave Chelsea on a free transfer at the end of the season.
However, FC Barcelona currently seems to have the edge - according to reports, the 25-year-old is drawn to Catalonia.
FC Bayern Munich: who will succeed Niklas Süle?
So is there only “Plan B” for FCB from Munich?
Apparently his name is Matthias Ginter – and there is also news from him.
The German international from Borussia Mönchengladbach is also available on a free transfer this summer. After five years with the Foals, he wants to start a new chapter.
Most recently, he has been linked with Inter Milan.
However, Italian media are now reporting that the 28-year-old has "disappeared from the radar" - the Nerazzurri would refrain from making a commitment.
Why?
"Bayern are the reason," writes the renowned
Gazzetta dello Sport.
This information coincides with that of

.
The transfer experts there assume that Ginter has decided to move to Bayern Munich - and Inter therefore draws the short straw.
All speculation - and yet a transfer would ultimately make sense.
Ginter can defend both inside and on the right, in fact he is even a skilled midfielder.
In youth he was placed on the eight or even on the ten, in the Freiburg U19 he scored 24 times in 46 games.
A decent quota for a later defender.
Flexibility is valued at Bayern, especially coach Julian Nagelsmann is a fan of variable players.
So why not Ginter?

The 2014 world champion is free of charge, and the Bayern bosses could probably also meet his salary expectations.
He is a year and eight months older than Süle, but 28 is far from the age to think about retiring.
On the contrary: The Bundesliga experience that Ginter brings with him is impressive: he has played 284 games in the German football upper house - Süle currently has 216.

So will Ginter be the successor to Süle?
There is a lot to be said for it, because Bayern do not want to fill any new positions if they have not previously generated a fee.
Put simply, this means: Süle is going on a free transfer, so his successor must also come for a free transfer.
A commitment of candidates like Nico Schlotterbeck (SC Freiburg) or Gleison Bremer (FC Torino) would be expensive and is almost impossible against this background.
Should Bayern's "Plan A" Christensen actually head towards Barcelona, "Plan B" Ginter could become more realistic.
