Do it again.
Gymnast Artium Dolgofyat, the Olympic champion from the Tokyo Olympics, advanced today (Wednesday) to the World Cup final in Doha, Qatar, after being ranked first in the ground apparatus.
The 24-year-old Dolgofiat, the silver medalist from the 2017 and 2019 World Championships in the ground, participated in his powerful ground exercise, a new exercise he has been working on in recent months, on which he received 14,666 points, ranking first among the top eight.
If that wasn’t enough, Dolgofiat also advanced to the nearby horse final, having scored 14.166 points and was ranked sixth overall.
In addition to Dolgofiat, Andrei Medvedev is also competing for a bronze medalist from the World Championships and last year's European runner-up at the jumping table, when he achieved a score of 13,066 points on the ground and was ranked 13th.
Alex Miakinin finished the adjacent horse with 12.533 points and was ranked 19th.
For Dolgofiat, this is the second consecutive competition he has made it to the final, since he did so last week in Germany, but there fell in a new element and finished only in sixth place overall, this time hoping to go all the way and stand on the podium.
The Doha World Cup is part of the criteria for the World Cup to be held at the end of the year in Liverpool, when the round will continue on March 13 in Cairo and end at the end of the month (31.3) in the Baku World Cup.
The qualifying round in Qatar will continue tomorrow as well, and on Friday and Saturday the finals will be held on each device separately.
