Russian and Belarusian athletes were authorized on Wednesday to participate in the Paralympic Games in Beijing which begin on Friday, despite the conflict in Ukraine, announced the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
Athletes from both countries will participate under a "
neutral
" banner, "
will compete under the Paralympic flag and will not appear on the medal table
", according to a statement released by the international organization on its website.
Who therefore decided not to follow the position of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) which had decided on the pure and simple exclusion of Russian and Belarusian athletes.
