The war between Russia and Ukraine continues to claim victims and also reaches sports, when last night (Tuesday) the Ukrainian Biathlon Association announced the death of Yevhan Malishev, who was killed during his military service in the war.
The 19-year-old Malishev stopped his professional biathlon career to enlist in the Ukrainian army.
Unfortunately, he lost his life during the war in his country.
"We express deep sorrow for the homeland, friends and family. Melishev will be remembered forever," the Ukrainian Biathlon Association wrote.
"Heroes are not dying," said some of his friends in Kharkiv's young team, with many responses expressing their grief and writing about how great a talent this was for the industry and his future was ahead of him.
This is the third Ukrainian athlete killed in the last day, after it became clear yesterday that 21-year-old footballer Vitaly Safilo, who played in the youth team of the Karpati Lvov team and Dmitry 'Dima' Martinenko played in the regional FC Gostomel team were killed by the fights and bombings.
We will remember them.
Thank you, Yevhen Malyshev.

The only thing I was able to get from #Kharkiv in the last 20 minutes ... "19-year-old biathlete Yevhen Malyshev died in a battle near Kharkiv. Glory and eternal memory to the Heroes of Ukraine!"
Nineteen.

Several well-known Ukrainian athletes have joined the army to defend their country.
Yuri Vernidov, the coach of Sheriff Tiraspol and a former footballer, chess player Georgi Tymoshenko or a boxer like Vasyl Lumchenko are just some of the examples.
Yevhen Malyshev was a talent in biathlon.
He was only 20 (19) years old when he was killed in combat in the war in Ukraine.

All this is happening, while world sports organizations are canceling competitions in Russia and Belarus, vetoing selected teams or athletes to participate in various sporting events around the world, and while some well-known Russian athletes like Daniel Medvedev, Andrei Rublev and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova have called for an end to the war.
