TSV 1860 Munich beats Kaiserslautern in the catch-up game.

Is there still something going for the lions in the direction of promotion?

Verl is already waiting on Friday.

Munich

– It was another evening when Michael Köllner proved his golden nose.

Löwen coach Kevin Goden came on in the 75th minute, and ten minutes later the 23-year-old scored the much-celebrated 2-1 winner against Kaiserslautern.

“The team was rewarded for their efforts today.

For the way she performed," said Köllner.

The evening had started badly for the Munich team.

After 90 seconds, Stephan Salger played a half-hearted pass towards Löwen goalkeeper Marco Hiller in his own penalty area.

"Not with me," thought Mike Wunderlich, caught the ball, rounded Hiller and gave Kaiserslautern an early lead (2').

The lions quickly processed the damper.

Dennis Dressel (14th) and Yannick Deichmann (17th) tried it after nice combinations with shots from a distance.

Between the two scenes, Lautern created a goal threat after a counterattack, but the vigilant Hiller stopped Muhammed Kiprit with a strong save.

TSV 1860: Neudecker is suspended and collects for Ukraine aid initiatives

The game picked up speed quickly: Lautern's defender Alexander Winkler brought the lion Marcel Bär down in the penalty area (19'), but referee Martin Petersen didn't whistle.

"Lauter shouldn't have complained," said Daniel Bierofka, who accompanied the game as an expert for MagentaSport.

1860 continued to press, taking more and more control of the game.

And he was rewarded for his committed performance with the equaliser: A shot from Biankadi jumped to Bär's heel and from there into the goal to make it 1-1 (26').

In comparison to the 3-1 win in Zwickau, Köllner brought in Merveille Biankadi, Erik Tallig and Semi Belkahia for Richy Neudecker (suspended, we reported), Fabian Greilinger and Niklas Lang (sternum injury).

Neudecker was not allowed to participate in sports, so the 25-year-old took part in the donation campaign – the mobile home from “die Bayerische” collects money for Ukraine aid initiatives at various locations.

Before kick-off, both teams had set a sign against the war with a banner "Together for peace", followed by a minute's silence.

TSV 1860: Take momentum into Friday's game against Verl

The traditional clubs in the floodlight game did not get any rest afterwards.

In the second half, the Löwen pushed Lautern more and more backwards on the pitch.

Only the compelling goal chances were still missing.

In any case, it was not due to the support from the ranks.

The 7,500 spectators, including ski lion Linus Straßer and lion legend Benny Lauth, created a rousing atmosphere on Giesing's heights.

Köllner set fresh offensive impulses in the final quarter of an hour with the substitutions of Greilinger and Kevin Goden.

At first it looked as if the lions would continue to bite their teeth against the best defense in the 3rd division.

But after a free-kick from Tallig, Goden was all alone at the far post – that deserved to make it 2-1 (85').

“It was an outstanding team effort.

We gave everything," said Goden.

The victory was not yet a new attack on the promotion race.

But a first, important step.

On Friday, 1860 Verl receives, "We have a brutally difficult game.

We need our fans again," said Köllner.
