Danny Abdia speaks ahead of Washington's return from vacation (Washington official website)
Danny Abdia had hoped to take advantage of the 24 games left for Washington after the All-Star break to amass more minutes and confidence, but at least for now the plans are going awry.
After a less-than-good game against Cleveland that he finished without points, the Israeli forward suffered another disappointment last night (Tuesday-Wednesday) when he was injured during the Wizards' 113-115 home win over Detroit.
Abdia managed to play 9 minutes and score two points (0 from 2 from the field including 0 from 1 from three, 2: 2 from the penalty spot), take down 4 rebounds and deal two assists before his knees collided with Pistons player Jeremy Grant in an attempt to penetrate three minutes to end the quarter the first one.
Although he tried to fight the pain and stayed on the floor, in the middle of the second quarter he signaled to the bench that he could not continue, and the attempts to train him for the rest of the game were unsuccessful.

Without him, the Wizards recovered from two straight losses and improved their balance to 33 losses compared to 28 wins, recording a 14th straight home win over the Pistons, which dropped to a 47:15 balance.
Wes Ansald Jr.'s side already led by a double-digit lead at the start of the final quarter, but almost dropped the lead in the closing seconds.
Luckily for her, Killian Hayes missed a three-pointer on the buzzer that could have forced overtime.
Kyle Kozma was again the standout in Washington with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, Thomas Bryant (16) and Cantabius Caldwell Pop (15) assisted, and on the other side of the light points were Jeremy Grant with 26 and Cade Cunningham with 20, 9 rebounds and -5 assists.
The Wizards keep waiting for him.

The Wizards will return to the floor in a home game against Atlanta on the night between Friday and Saturday, and Abdia will hope to return to fitness by then.
