At FSV Mainz 05, 19 people were infected with the corona virus.
The club announced this in the evening.
Those affected - players, coaches and team members - are fully immunized, it said in a statement.
The training planned for the afternoon has been canceled and all infected people have gone into domestic isolation.
The table ninth should play against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.
Sebastian Kehl, Head of the Licensed Players Department at BVB, said: "We will continue to prepare professionally for the match.
As of now, we assume that the game can take place next Sunday.«
No new situation for Mainz
According to the DFL rules of the game, a club can only apply for a match to be dismissed under the current regulations if fewer than 16 players (including amateurs who are eligible to play) are available.
The short-term corona problem is not a new situation for Mainz: Immediately before the start of the season, the club had to complain about eleven infections in the ranks of the professionals last August.
The game against runners-up RB Leipzig, also on the following Sunday, took place anyway – Mainz won 1-0.
