Bayern don't want to let their eight-point cushion in front of pursuers Dortmund shrink against the third-placed team.

In the back of your mind, however, is the round of 16 second leg in the Champions League against RB Salzburg just three days later (first leg: 1-1).

Julian Nagelsmann* could give his stars a break before the important duel with the Austrians.

Nagelsmann* will reveal his plans before the game against Leverkusen at the press conference on Friday from 1.30 p.m.

The Landsberger can look forward to the return of Thomas Müller, other injured or battered professionals are making progress.

Thomas Müller* was missing at 1-0 in Frankfurt last week with a corona infection.

In the meantime, Bayern's attacking star has recovered and is happily participating in training.

Müller had no symptoms and is expected to return to the starting XI against Leverkusen.

The FCB leader sees the game as "a kind of dress rehearsal".

Leverkusen are a strong team and are playing a great second half of the season, writes Müller in his current newsletter.

It's about "winning and finding our rhythm for the Champions League game next week."

With 16 points in seven games, Leverkusen is playing the best second half of the season in the club's history, Bayern have picked up one point less.

An offensive spectacle can be expected in the Allianz Arena: FC Bayern have already scored 75 goals this season, the Werkself 63. That is a record for both teams after 24 games, and even a Bundesliga record for Bayern.

Lucas Hernandez cannot help to stop the Leverkusen offensive.

The central defender is missing yellow card.

Niklas Süle* is available for this.

The defender had to take a break this week with back problems, but resumed training on Thursday.

There is also positive news from Corentin Tolisso.

The Frenchman, who had to be substituted two weeks ago against Fürth with a torn muscle fiber, started running.

The midfielder shouldn't be an option for Leverkusen yet.

Robert Lewandowski was absent from training on Wednesday, but due to a bereavement in the family*.

The striker is scheduled against Leverkusen.

Nagelsmann may give one or the other frequent player a breather before the trend-setting Champions League game against Salzburg.

Most recently in Frankfurt, he initially rested Leroy Sané, who scored the winning goal as a joker.
