Israel's women's water polo team defeated Protogog | Israel today

Israel's women's water polo team took a big step tonight (Friday) towards promotion to the European Championships.

The players of Greek coach Dimitris from Brutas defeated Portugal 15-5 and went up to a balance of 1-0.

Dr. Mankerman (4 goals) and Nofar Hochberg (3 goals) led the team to victory.

On Saturday (18:00 Israel time) the team will meet France and on Sunday it will end the qualifying campaign against Malta (11:30 Israel time).

The first two teams from home will qualify for the European Championships to be held this summer in the city of Split, Croatia.

Team coach Dimitris of Brutas said that "every game at the beginning of a campaign is a game with pressure. We knew we were a better team from Portugal and we had to show it in the water.

The actresses played with a lot of energy, did a very good defense which allowed us to lead from the start.

"Tomorrow against France will be different, there will be less pressure on us and I believe the game will be more enjoyable to watch."
