Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac) took the first pole position of the MotoGP season, ahead of Italian Enea Bastianini (Ducati-Gresini) and Spaniard Marc Marquez (Honda), at the Qatar Grand Prix Saturday.

The defending champion, the French Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), will only start in 11th position on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. local time (4:00 p.m. French time), not far from his Italian rival Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), 9th.
The second Frenchman Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac) will start 13th on the starting grid of the Losail circuit.
The second row went to the Australian Jack Miller (Ducati) and the Spanish brothers Aleix and Pol Espargaro, the first for Aprilia and the second for Honda.
In Moto2 and Moto3, the first poles of the season went to Italian Celestino Vietti (Kalex) and Spaniard Izan Guevara (GASGAS).
