DFB Cup: Draw for the semi-finals in the live ticker – Leipzig, Union Berlin, Freiburg and HSV in the pot

The remaining teams RB Leipzig, Union Berlin, SC Freiburg and Hamburger SV are offered a unique historical opportunity in the DFB Cup.

The big favorites FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund have long been eliminated.

It feels like an opportunity like this only comes along every ten years.

In the last decade, only Eintracht Frankfurt 2018 and VfL Wolfsburg 2015 managed the coup alongside the two top dogs.

Among the semi-finalists, only HSV has already won the DFB Cup.

The Hanseatic League triumphed three times - most recently in 1987. Union Berlin won the FDGB Cup in 1968 during the GDR era.

The Köpenicker could win the pot in a possible final in the Berlin Olympic Stadium, the home ground of Hertha BSC.

In 2001, the Irons came close and lost in the final against Schalke.

The draw for the semi-finals in the DFB Cup runs on TV and live stream.
