The chance for the play-offs still exists: EA Schongau won the home game against SV Buchloe 4:1.

Now the "mammoths" are dependent on the "pirates".

Schongau – The first of three homework that the EA Schongau has to do for the play-off in the Bayernliga has been done.

With the 4:1 home win against ESV Buchloe, the "Mammuts" kept their chance of fourth place alive.

At the same time they kicked a direct competitor out of the race with the inferior “Pirates”.

Spicy detail: EAS is now dependent on the help of Buchloer to overtake ERSC Amberg in the remaining two games.

While the Schongauer have to score another three in the derby at TSV Peißenberg on Friday, the Buchloer should kidnap at least one point at the same time at the ERSC (still four points ahead).

"Then we have a real final for fourth place on Sunday in Amberg," says EAS coach Rainer Höfler, describing the possible scenario, which still contains many imponderables.

EA Schongau clearly superior to ESV Buchloe

The conditions on Sunday in the stadium on Lechuferstraße were clear: The “Mammuts” dominated the action against the “Pirates”.

"Schongau was superior," admitted ESV trainer Christopher Lerchner.

It was only thanks to goalkeeper Johannes Wiedemann that Buchloer kept the game open for a long time – as far as the result was concerned.

"The goalkeeper kept the guests in the game," said Höfler.

The coach also praised his team's tactical discipline: "At ESV you have to take the front row with Michal Petrak and Alex Krafczyk out of the game, and that worked well." The "mammoths" acted cleverly in other respects too: only two The hosts afforded penalties.

Meanwhile, Buchloe received five penalties from the sovereign team of referees.

In the first third, the Schongauer already worked out a significant increase in game shares, which was not noticeable on the scoreboard.

EAS had a few chances, the top-class missed by Willy Knebel (13th), but it was still 0-0 in the dressing room.

In the second third, Buchloer, who had hardly seen anything offensively until then, got off to a better start: A one-off action by Petrak (22nd) gave the guests a surprising 1-0.

A little later, EAS goalkeeper Daniel Blankenburg prevented the second goal against Krafczyk.

Then the Schongauer stepped on the gas pedal.

EA Schongau surprisingly behind

Jason Lavallee (24th) missed another big chance to equalize.

Immediately afterwards, Kevin Steiner (25th) pushed the disc over the line from close range to make it 1-1.

As a result, the home side had good chances.

So Stefan Saal (29th) hit the post.

In the final phase of the middle section, Buchloe also showed himself to be a bit more offensive again.

After a chance for the guests was blocked by Blankenburg, it immediately went in the opposite direction - Matthias Müller (38th) closed a combination worth seeing to make it 2-1.

Lavallee (40th) then missed the third EAS goal when he shot past the empty box.

In the final round, Schongau's top scorer Lavallee prepared the 3:1, which Simon Maucher (48th) scored with a dust collector.

Shortly thereafter, Maucher unintentionally felled Petrak with a slapshot.

The ESV veteran, who was hit in the ear, was able to continue playing a few minutes later.

At Buchloe, meanwhile, not much was going on.

The EAS clearly determined what happened in the final minutes.

Philip Keil (53rd) and Daniel Holzmann, who hit Alu again, missed two good chances to score a fourth goal.

That was reserved for Maucher (54th), who crowned his strong performance with his second goal of the evening to make it 4-1.
