A former Bundesliga star has died at the age of just 50 after a serious illness.
Munich – The Bundesliga mourns.
As the Austrian first division soccer team Rapid Wien reports, the long-time Bundesliga professional Sergej Mandreko is dead.
The association announced that Mandreko, who was born in today's Tajikistan, died on Tuesday at the age of 50 after a long and serious illness.
Mandreko was under contract with the Viennese from 1992 to 1997.
He then moved to Germany and played a total of 67 appearances in the Bundesliga and 26 games in the second division for Hertha BSC and VfL Bochum until 2003.
