Three players have left TSV Eching, but the newcomers have it all.

The team is prepared for the BOL restart at the weekend.

– Now it's all about points for staying up in the league again: The district upper league footballers of TSV Eching start the second half of the season with a home game against Höhenrain.

The preparation was mixed overall – and a lot has happened in terms of personnel.

After the departures of top scorer Kelly Scholz and keeper Katharina Prummer (both without a club) and midfielder Elena Fischer (FC Neufahrn), Eching is also happy about two newcomers: Julia-Marie Grosch (formerly FC Moosburg) will be at TSV in the future a new woman between the posts.

"I'm very impressed by Julia, she has a great character," enthuses Zebras trainer Jan Strehlow.

Also new to the team is former Bayern Munich youth player Nele Mezger (18), who most recently played for FC Stern Munich.

"She's incredibly talented in organization and, among other things, also technically very strong," the coach praised the young defensive player.

Strehlow: "Due to Corona, there were sometimes only ten people in training."

However, Strehlow has had a mixed preparation with his team.

Because of the weather conditions, a large part of the six-week preparation for the second half of the season took place indoors.

And not everything went smoothly on the pitch either: "Due to Corona, there were sometimes only ten people in training," regrets Jan Strehlow, who will continue to focus on his preparation until the points round.

The focus should be on general fitness, such as speed and endurance.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

In addition to the three training sessions a week, the Echinger soccer players tried to get the necessary playing qualifications in several friendlies: They lost 6-3 to the district league club TSV Munich-Solln, but were happy to finally be able to play outside again.

Also at SC Vierkirchen (district league) you had to admit defeat with 0:1.

"It was still a good test," reports Strehlow.

Last weekend they drew 1-1 at FFC Wacker Munich's U23 district league – according to the coach, it was his team's best game on artificial turf.

The dress rehearsal takes place on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at home against the district class club SpVgg Markt Schwabener Au, before the restart in the district league against fourth-placed FSV Höhenrain on Sunday (3 p.m.).

The goal of the season is still staying up

“We have never played against Höhenrain.

But we want to show at home that we have mastered our large-field tactics.

That means being offensively creative and defensively disciplined,” explains Strehlow, who continues to state that staying up in the league is his goal for the season.

It is also important to him to keep the fun factor high, which is why, in addition to a team trip to the AirHop trampoline park in Munich last weekend, a training camp also took place at home.
