Schongau – The Schongau handball women have coped well with the five-week break since their last league game.

At TSV Murnau, the team from Lech, although weakened by replacements, managed to win 32:26 (15:11).

With this, the Schongau women worked their way up one place in the district Oberliga Ost – they are now fifth.

"Our two young players from the A and B youth played great.

And it was a great return for Sumire Emi,” said Sabine Weith, who looked after the team for coach Sven Sölla who was unable to play.

"It was a good team performance, which is also reflected in the goal distribution," said Weith, looking at the game report sheet in which all eight field players immortalized themselves as goal scorers.

The Schongau girls got off to a good start.

Driven on by Anna Amberg and Andrea Salzmann (she ended up being the top scorer of the game with twelve goals), the guests quickly gained a three-goal lead.

The lead remained largely constant as a result, not least because returnee Emi stood out with a few goals.

However, the Murnau women stayed within reach, mainly due to several converted penalty throws.

Nothing was decided at the change of sides, even if the Schongau women's lead was four goals.

At the start of the second half, the guests showed a lot of momentum.

They also extended the lead – to 20:13 (37th).

After that, however, negligence and simple ball losses crept into the game.

As a result, the Murnau women fought their way up in the final phase.

In the 53rd minute, TSV Schongau was only ahead by three goals (29:26).

"We almost made it exciting again due to lack of concentration and lack of breath," reported Weith.

Salzmann and Emi scored three more goals in the last few minutes, with which the guests secured the important victory.
