The EA Schongau wants to use their small chance for the play-offs in the Bayernliga.

But first the derby at TSV Peißenberg has to be successful.

Schongau/Peißenberg – The victory of EA Schongau last Sunday against ESV Buchloe (we reported) was gratifying and, above all, absolutely necessary to preserve the chances of the play-offs in the Bayernliga.

At the same time, the “Mammuts” now have to hope for the “Pirates”, who were knocked out of the play-off race.

Because the Buchloer are guests this Friday at the ERSC Amberg, the direct competitor of the Schongauer.

The Allgäu must kidnap at least one point from the Upper Palatinate so that the "mammoths" still have the opportunity to intercept the Ambergers in a direct duel on Sunday.

How high the motivation of the Buchloer is, however, is in the stars.

Höfler also relies on the psychological component: "The pressure is on Amberg."

EA Schongau is dependent on ESV Buchloe

Of course, the Schongauers themselves are also required to prepare everything for a possible final for fourth place this Friday.

According to the game plan, the “Mammuts” have to play the derby against the “Peißenberg Miners” of all things.

The duel begins at 8 p.m. in the Peissenberger Stadium on Pestalozzi-Strasse.

“Of course nobody wants to lose the derby”, Höfler expects anything but a walk to the neighbors.

For the "Miners" it's all about prestige, since the play-off train has long since left for them after nine defeats in a row at the beginning of the promotion round.

"We still want to put in a good performance and we want to win," says Peißenberg's coach Sepp Staltmayr.

TSV Peißenberg has recently won three games

With three wins in a row, one against second-placed TEV Miesbach, the Peissenbergers have gained a lot of self-confidence.

Accordingly motivated, the Peißenberger go on the ice.

"It's going to be tight again," said Staltmayr, expecting a hard-fought game.

At the same time, those responsible for "Miners" are hoping for many fans - 999 visitors are officially allowed.

The "Miners" want to take revenge for the 6-2 defeat in Schongau two weeks ago.

In the main round, each of the two district rivals managed to win one – and that in the respective away game.

On Sunday (5.30 p.m.) the Peissenbergers will be in action again on their home ice at the end of the season.

Opponents are the "lions" of EHC Waldkraiburg.

"We're playing for a win so we can go into the summer break with a good feeling," explains Staltmayr.

However, the game could also be canceled.

At EHC Waldkraiburg last weekend, in the run-up to the game against ESV Buchloe, there were several positive test results in terms of "Corona" - the match was postponed at the request of the "Löwen" and is to be rescheduled on March 15th.

EA Schongau is hoping for a "final" on Sunday

On the other hand, it is certain - or at least as certain as one can be in Corona times - that the Schongauers will compete in Amberg (Sunday 6.30 p.m.).

Höfler hopes that the “mammoths” will then have something to do.

"It could be a coffee trip and then you have to be careful not to lose your body tension and maybe injure yourself," says the trainer.

The Schongauer are as good as complete on the last weekend of the promotion round.

Marius Klein and Jonas Lautenbacher are injured.

The roster of the "Miners" is the same as in recent games.

The long-term injured Martin Andrä, Max Brauer, Manuel Singer and Andreas Kreutterer are absent from Peißenberg.
