It's that time all hockey fans love: the knockout stage.

She started the pre-play-offs for EC Peiting on Friday.

And even very successfully.

Peiting – Things have been anything but smooth at EC Peiting in the past few weeks.

In the main round of the ice hockey league, coach Anton Saal's team recently suffered four defeats in five games.

But just in time for the start of the knockout round, the team is there.

In the first encounter with EV Lindau in the pre-play-offs, Peiting won 6:3 on their own ice.

The ECP got off to a good start.

Barely a minute and a half had been played when Lukas Motloch hit the target first, but he hit it properly on the second try.

On her way to the goal, Dominic Krabbat corrected her direction - and the disc wriggled in the net.

The ECP led 1-0 and had the game under control.

But due to penalties for Marco Habermann and Daniel Reichert, things also got hectic in front of Florian Hechenrieder – Peiting's goalie was back on the ice after a short injury break.

The ECP defended courageously and concentrated, so the Lindauers could only create one real chance in the five-a-side game.

The American Nolan Redler, who put the disc past the empty goal, missed it.

Peiting's Ty Morris aimed better.

When he came to the pane

EC Peiting keeps Lindau in check

In the second third, Lindau acted much more aggressively, the game became more competitive.

Hechenrieder prevented Martin Mairitsch from scoring at the last moment.

Then Morris excelled again.

The attacker and the puck were able to glide undisturbed from the blue line towards the Lindauer Tor.

When everyone was expecting the pass, Peiting's rascal curled the disc into the goal to make it 3-0.

But the guests had an answer ready and reduced the score to 1:3 in return - it was Dustin Reich who rewarded Lindau's efforts for the first time with his surprising shot from the blue line.

Damian Schneider scored a second goal for the guests shortly before the end of the third.

Because Lukas Motloch scored in between with a strong individual action for Peiting, the ECP went into the next break with an interim score of 4:2.

Another victory against Lindau is enough for EC Peiting

After that there was little tension.

Thomas Heger gave Peitingen a decent cushion with the 5:2.

Although Lindau came up to 3:5 through Dominik Patocka.

But when the "Islanders" went all out and took the goalie off the ice in favor of another outfield player, Nagtzaam closed the sack and made it 6-3.

So the Peitingers only need one win against EV to get into the play-offs.

With that they could already do the sack in Lindau this Sunday, 6 p.m.
